Stephen "RemissionMan" Brown is a dedicated cancer survival advisor, patient advocate, and endurance athlete. Diagnosed with chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) at age 45, Stephen draws upon his 20 year journey with the disease to mentor and inspire others facing similar health battles. Driven by his core belief that no one should navigate a cancer diagnosis in a vacuum, he is currently preparing to sit for the Board Certified Patient Advocate test to further formalize his commitment to guiding patients through complex healthcare landscapes.
As a Certified Personal Trainer and Cancer Exercise Specialist, Stephen brings passion and purpose to mentoring others on their physical recovery. Leveraging his unique background of completing multiple Ironman competitions while managing a chronic illness, he founded reMISSION FIT in Philadelphia. Through his own organization and his ongoing work as a Personal Trainer with the Survivor Fitness Foundation, Stephen helps individuals rebuild strength, restore confidence, and embrace life beyond their diagnosis through customized, goal-oriented fitness plans.
Stephen’s patient advocacy is bolstered by a robust corporate career, having spent nearly 15 years in strategic leadership, risk management, and operations roles at Wells Fargo and JPMorgan Chase & Co. Today, supported by his wife, daughters, and grandchildren, he is a prominent voice and staple in the CLL community. He continuously shares his message of hope, progress, and resilience through public speaking, published writing, and volunteer work, dedicating his life to ensuring patients have the physical, emotional, and navigational support they need to thrive.
